Doctors offices are very busy right now and there's a lot of illnesses going around.
Let's start our weekly check in Cicero where Dr. Terasaka is seeing lots of sore throats, both strep and viral, sinus infections, ear infections and kids with asthma are having a tough time.
Strep throat is also going around in Liverpool. The North Medical Urgent Care is seeing it in both children and adults and they're seeing adults with pneumonia.
In Syracuse, Dr. Freshman says he's seen a big increase in patients this week. Many kids have bad colds with coughs that can hand on for a couple of weeks.
At Auburn Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, they're seeing lots of strep throat, also colds and sinus infections. At Brighton Pediatrics, to the south of Syracuse, checks in with ear infections and the stomach bug.
It's the stomach bug that's sending both children and adults to the emergency room at University Hospital. The kids with asthma are also coming in with symptom flareups and adults are also dealing with sinus infections. What's going around is our way of letting know what illnesses are out there. Your own doctor can tell you about the best treatments.
