A nasty stomach bug is going around, let's begin our weekly check with doctor's offices at the Pulaski Health Center.
Dr. Carguello says between 100 and 150 children at the elementary school are just now recovering from a stomach virus which caused vomiting and fatigue. He's also treating kids wirh upper respiratory infections causing cough, nasal congestion and fever.
In Auburn, Dr. Grany's office is also seeing the upper respiratory infections as well as the stomach bug and strep throat. Strep throat is also going around in Syracuse and the Community Health Center is also seeing some stomach bug and pink eye.In Cicero, Wee Care Pediatrics is seeing klots of stomach bug along with upper respiratory infections, ear infection and pink eye.
At North Medical Urgent Care in Liverpool, they're treating some strep throat but mostly upper respiratory infections. Summerwood Pediatrics says things have been quiet this week, with some colds and coughs, but Dr. Dracker is seeing poison ivy. If you're burning brush, he says check to make sure there's no poison ivy. If it's inhaled while burning, children and adults can get poison ivy as though they'd touched it.
In Camillus, Dr. Rovall is seeing an upper respiratory infection that starts with a scratchy sore throat; the kids lose their voices and it lasts for a week.Finally, at the emergency room at University Hospital, children are coming in with the stomach bug and high fevers. They're treating adults with upper respiratory infections.
