For tonight's "Doctor On Call" question, we go to Camillus. This viewer writes,
"We're saving money on fruits and vegetables by going to local farmers markets, but I want to make sure the family has protein too. Any advice on getting the protein cheap?"

We checked with a registered dietician who says eat more eggs and drink more milk. The body uses the protein from these sources very efficiently. Even with recent price increases, eggs and milk beat beef hands down. You can feed eggs to a family of four for $1.60 and a glass of milk is about $0.25 cheaper than even a bargain can of soda. Milk and eggs also provide at least a dozen important nutrients each, so trade one meat meal a week for an egg-based meal.
