“Does eating too much soy put you at risk for Alzheimer's? I remember reading it in a magazine, but don't know if it was a credible source. Is the information accurate?” Lakeland

The answer is no. We checked with the Geriatric Department at University Hospital -- they say there is no credible information that consuming soy products will increase the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. In general, it is a good idea to eat a balanced diet that is low in saturated fat and includes five or more servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Diets that are considered "heart healthy" are also good for brain health.
